About Me

With twenty years of experience in San Miguel de Allende as a designer, builder & remodeler of homes – and also a curator & producer of cultural events – Brigham brings a wide breadth of knowledge and a unique passion to his work at Sotheby’s.

Every client is unique — and every property is too. Brigham understands this, and always combines a deep sensitivity to his client’s financial and lifestyle choices with his extensive understanding of San Miguel. His goals are simple: to help each client and property find their match, and to steward them smoothly through the sometimes confusing process of real estate transactions in Mexico. After all, he has been a buyer and a seller of properties many times there himself!

Raised in New England and California in the 70s and 80s, Brigham spent more than a decade as a professional anthropologist of Indonesia at Columbia University in New York. It was here that he first began to remodel homes, beginning with distressed apartments in lower Manhattan. Soon after, while on sabbatical, Brigham first came to San Miguel and immediately fell in love with its vibrant community and culture. In 2009, he moved there permanently, to raise a family and pursue his creative passions for home-building, culture and community. Today he lives in Centro, in a multiple-home complex of his design, which includes his family, two AirBnB apartments and a large production studio.
